ISO 13485 facility Lifetime re-sharpening Worldwide shipping

Mayo scissors were developed at the Mayo Clinic and remain the global standard for cutting fascia, sutures and dense tissue. Our edition is forged — never stamped — from certified German bar stock, then hardened, tempered, hand-ground and individually function-tested on surgical gauze before packing.

The curved pattern allows deeper penetration into wounds with better visibility of the cutting line; the straight pattern is preferred for suture cutting and superficial dissection. Both carry our lifetime workmanship guarantee and are backed by free re-sharpening for the life of the instrument.

Cleaning: Rinse at point of use; clean with neutral-pH enzymatic detergent, fully opened, brushing serrations below the waterline. Ultrasonic cleaning recommended weekly.

Sterilization: Pre-vacuum steam cycle, 134 °C for 3–5 minutes, instruments open and unlatched. Use demineralized water only — chlorides cause pitting corrosion.

Lubrication: Apply steam-penetrable instrument milk to the screw joint after every cleaning cycle. Never use industrial oils or WD-40.

Storage: Dry completely before storage. Store in a dry, ventilated cabinet — never in closed plastic without desiccant.
